Tranquility on the Daintree is exactly as the name suggests – a private, self-contained accommodation property, bordered on one side by the majestic Daintree River, and on the other by pristine Daintree rainforest. Situated on a 450 acre property in the Upper Daintree Valley, the property includes stunning freshwater creeks and breathtaking waterfalls, for the private use of guests.
The beautifully appointed house has capacity for 10 guests with five bedrooms offered across three levels, each with its own private balcony. Booked on a sole use basis, no matter if you are looking for a romantic destination for 2, or a family getaway, the entire house is for your private use. With a large in-ground saltwater pool, spacious entertaining/living areas both inside and out, gas barbecue facilities (for cooking that elusive barramundi you catch in the river) and a full-size table tennis/pool table, you have no reason to leave your Daintree home.
Included in their stay, guests are taken on a guided interpretive tour by manager and biologist, Mark Palfreyman, through the rainforest located on the property to the spectacular Niau Falls, the largest set of privately owned waterfalls in the area. Guests are also invited to join one of the local river cruises to spot the infamous crocodiles that inhabit the Daintree River. Fishing charters (full and half day) are available for the fishing enthusiast, and for those needing a little added relaxation, a masseuse is on call for house visits...it doesn’t get any more tranquil than that!
Managers Mark and Anne Palfreyman live on-site and are on hand to assist you with anything you may need during your stay – travel arrangements, tour bookings, nighttime nature spotting tours etc – while at the same time giving you the space and privacy you require.
With Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation within short drives, this is the ideal location to base your Daintree get-away, and explore the greater-Daintree region.
