Set above the bay, on the south - eastern tip of Lamb Island, "Wyrd" offers peace and tranquility, with relaxing water views across to Russell and Stradbroke Islands.
The upper level of this unique cottage contains two bedrooms with a king-size bed in one and two singles in the other. Both rooms have superb water views. Drift off to sleep lulled by the sound of the water and views of the night sky. Wake in the morning to full bird orchestra.
Downstairs is a spacious, open plan living area with a wood fire and modern kitchen. The dining area has a semicircle of windows offering a spectacular view of islands and waterways.
Relax on the veranda overlooking the bay and experience the serenity of island life at "Wyrd".
This sub-tropical island has an abundance of native flora and fauna, and is edged with mangrove interspersed with sandy beaches.
The waterfront below the cottage is now part of the Marine Reserve established to protect dugong and turtle habitat. Walk to the designated areas outside the Reserve to crab (remember, jennies and undersized males are released, not eaten!) or fish (please check the Tide Guide for legal size) or sit back on the deck to enjoy the subtle colors revealed as the tides change.
It is approximately 60 minutes from the Brisbane CBD to Redland Bay. The waterbus provides a regular passenger service, taking 20 mins to reach Lamb. Bicycles are welcome. The vehicular barge takes 45 - 50 mins.
Wyrd is a few minutes’ drive across the island or a comfortable 25 minute walk. There is no public transport or taxi service on Lamb, although arrangements can be made for private transport from jetty to cottage.
Resthaven Drive is a divided road. Travel from the jetty to the end of Lucas Drive, turn right into Lovell then continue right into Resthaven Drive. Number 46 is located on the left hand side of the street.
Come and enjoy this charming cottage for a holiday of fishing, bird watching or that elusive pastime, doing absolutely nothing.
